  1. My name in Second Life is Janita Collins. My name in Real Life is Linda Fahlberg-Stojanovska. I am a professor of mathematics and computer sciences at the state university in Bitola, FYR Macedonia. I am US by nationality and my Ph.D. is from the US in theoretical mathematics under Dr. Lai-Sang Young. When I was much younger I received a Fullbright travel grant to MK and married and stayed here. My son is a junior in high-school.
I teach undergraduate and graduate engineering mathematics, but my love is integrating technology effectively into teaching any mathematics at any level. I work in developing free, downloadable, easily translatable interactive resources for teaching mathematics – particularly with GeoGebra and Scratch which are both freeware (see http://mathcasts.org/mtwiki).
I also develop mathcasts – that is, screencasts about mathematics – (my brother Tim Fahlberg pioneered mathcasts over 12 years ago) about math problems, but now mostly as tutorials for GeoGebra (see http://math247.pbwiki.com/GeoGebra).
Unfortunately I still do not know how to do interactive mathematics in Second Life and so cannot blog about it (as I had planned) and am now blogging about my opinions on mathematics and teaching mathematics.
